CANIO, PAGLIACCIO, Tenor Zachary Sheely, has appeared in solo concert and performed opera's leading roles including the Rodolfo in La Boheme, Duke in Rigoletto, Alfredo in La Traviata, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Arturo Buklaw in Lucia di Lammermoor, the Conductor in Pasatieri's La Divina, Brack Weaver in Down in the Valley, the Witch in Hansel and Gretel, Hermes in the world premiere of Victor Kioulaphides' The Silver Swan, Kaspar in Amahl and the Night Visitors and made his international debut in 2006 in Hanzhou, China, as Don Jose and Remendado in Carmen. An award winning young artist, critics call his voice "as beautiful as his singing..." 


NEDDA, COLOMBINA, Canio's Wife, Soprano Stephanie Hower, of Fresno performed Scratch in Moore's "The Devil and Daniel Webster", Fiordilligi in "Cosi fan tutte", and Jenny Diver in "The Threepenny Opera" in Oregon, as well as solo work in Mozart's "Vesperae solemnis" and "Requiem", Handel's "Dixit dominus", "Judas Maccabaeus", Bach's "St. Matthew Passion", Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," and in Antonin Dvorák's "Te Deum" with the Stuttgart University Orchestra.  Stephanie debuted as Georgette in "Il Tabarro" with California Opera and as a soloist with Fresno Choral Artists in recent performances of Durufle's "Requiem" and Handel's "Messiah".


TONIO, TADDEO, Baritone John Minagro, frequently seen in many genres of vocal music has performed from San Francisco Opera to Lincoln Center in New York, to the Salt Lake Mormon Tabernacle and in over 2000 performances of The Phantom of the Opera in San Francisco, and his CD was nominated for a Grammy in 2005 for Best New Classical Recording. 


SILVIO, Baritone Anthony Radford, performer, scholar, director and  teacher, holds a Doctor of Musical Arts, a graduate of the New England  Conservatory of Music and serves as current faculty at CSU Fresno. He performed roles and recitals in Britain, Canada and the U.S. and presented papers at the International Congress of Voice Teachers Conference, the American Musicological Society, the College Music Society Conference and the 2008 National Opera Association. 


PEPPE, Tenor Julian Michael Rickert joins the summer festival from his home and opera theatre works in Germany. He attended the Institute for Music Theatre at the University of Music Karlsruhe and continues to perform throughout Hamburg and Koln. In Hamburg, Julian also performs with the Little Amadeus Opera, an association presenting Mozart's Magic Flute, Don Giovanni & The Abduction from the Seraglio in children-friendly formats. Julian is currently engaged in film projects such as "Baton Boy", and as "Che" in "Evita" with Swiss Kriens-Luzern in Fall. 


MAGICIAN, Tony Blanco, a master of magic and mime, an expert stand-up comedian, host, and master of ceremonies, he's a professional juggler, stilt walker, and unicyclist. The multi-talented Tony Blanco has won rave notices and reviews as one of Las Vegas' most premier and sought-after entertainers!

SISTER ANGELICA, Samantha Knjoi, Soprano of Huntsville, Alabama most recently sang with the legendary Mezzo-Soprano, Marilyn Horne who called her voice, "An incredible instrument." In 2008, she was a national finalist in the All-Tech opera competition, state 1st place winner for the National Society of Arts and Letters and appeared as a soloist in Handel's Messiah and in the 10th anniversary Alabama Lyceum series. Also, a violist/violinist, Samantha has played principal professionally in symphonies of the southeast region and works with vocal and instrumental students throughout the US, most recently at Oakwood Academy and Valley Conservatory of Alabama.
